Abbottabad University Signs Landmark MoU with WISPTV for AI Research and Student Internships
Abbottabad University of Science and Technology (AUST) has taken a significant step in strengthening academia-industry collaboration by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with WISPTV Inc USA. The MoU was officially signed by Vice Chancellor AUST Prof. Dr. Malik Mujaddad-ur-Rehman and Gustavo Neiva De Medeiros, President of WISPTV Inc. This strategic partnership aims to advance AI research, develop AI-driven solutions, and provide valuable internship opportunities for Computer Science students at AUST.
Key Highlights of the Collaboration:
AI Research & Development
WISPTV and USTVNow will collaborate with AUST researchers to drive innovation in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Generative AI, and mobile and connected TV application development. A dedicated $5,000 research grant has been allocated to support student-led AI projects, focusing on AI-driven media advancements and content personalization technologies.
Exclusive Internship Program
- Unpaid Internships: WISPTV will offer unlimited unpaid internships to eligible Computer Science students, providing hands-on experience in AI applications, digital media technologies, and software development.
- Paid Internships: Up to four (4) paid internships per year will be offered to top-performing students selected based on academic performance and technical skills.
- Selection Process: Interns will be chosen by WISPTV’s Operations Manager, Lillian, and will work on cutting-edge AI projects.
- Financial Support: WISPTV will directly disburse stipends for paid internships and oversee project progress.

The collaboration is set to revolutionize AI applications in the digital streaming industry, allowing AUST students and faculty to gain first-hand exposure to industry trends. WISPTV and USTVNow will leverage AI-powered solutions developed at AUST to enhance content recommendation, automation, and monetization strategies.
