Education drives personal growth, societal transformation and global progress. In a world that is changing faster than any curriculum can be rewritten, quality and integrity remain the cornerstones of impactful education — they are what turn a degree into a capability, and a graduate into a professional.
The Quality Enhancement Cell of Abbottabad University of Science & Technology exists to protect and advance that standard. Working under the Quality Assurance framework of the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, the Directorate facilitates every department in the self-assessment of its academic programs, supports them through national and international accreditation, and collects structured feedback from students, faculty, alumni and employers so that decisions about teaching and learning rest on evidence rather than impression.

Seminar: Assessment Design and Academic Integrity
A seminar for faculty on designing valid assessments and applying the University's plagiarism policy.
The Directorate of Quality Enhancement is the focal office for academic quality at Abbottabad University of Science & Technology. Founded as a Quality Enhancement Cell in 2017 and raised to the status of a Directorate in 2020, it plans, monitors, evaluates and regulates the quality of every academic programme the University offers.
The Directorate works under the Higher Education Commission's Quality Assurance Framework, PSG-2023, applied through four instruments — institutional review (RIPE), programme review (PREE), postgraduate review (PGPR) and programme self-assessment. Findings are ratified by the Institutional Quality Circle, the University's apex quality body, which then holds the relevant offices to the resulting action plans.
Quality assurance is not the work of one office. The Directorate provides the framework, the instruments and the analysis; departments, faculty and students provide the evidence and the commitment.
The core areas of work through which the Directorate safeguards and raises academic standards.
Facilitate departments in preparing comprehensive self-assessment reports for all academic programs, and follow up on the implementation plans that come out of them.
Support departments in preparing for evaluation visits by national accreditation councils and for international accreditation processes.
Conduct periodic review of academic programs — curriculum, delivery, assessment and resources — to confirm that quality standards are being met.
Organise training sessions and workshops on quality assurance, outcome-based education, assessment design and self-assessment reporting.
Administer the HEC survey proformas to students, faculty, alumni and employers, analyse the results and report them to the competent authority.
Maintain a complete and auditable record of all quality enhancement activities, reviews, decisions and corrective actions of the University.
Students, faculty, alumni and employers each fill a defined instrument under the HEC Self-Assessment Manual. Responses are confidential and are reported only in aggregate.
